Report: Free agent Malik Monk to sign deal with Kings

Free agent guard Malik Monk is reportedly finalizing a deal with the Sacramento Kings according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.

According to league sources, Monk will be inking a two-year, $19 million contract.

The official deal is likely to be announced soon as the free agency period formally opened on Thursday at 6 p.m. ET.

Monk spent the 2021-2022 season with the Los Angeles Lakers, averaging 13.8 points, 2.9 assists, and 3.4 rebounds per game.

Previous to his time with the Lakers, the 24-year-old spent four seasons with the Charlotte Hornets.
