The Memphis Grizzlies are trading guard Patrick Beverley to the Minnesota Timberwolves in exchange for Jarrett Culver and Juancho Hernangomez, ESPN‘s Adrian Wojnarowski reports.
The Grizzlies had acquired Beverley along with Rajon Rondo and Daniel Oturu from the Los Angeles Clippers in exchange for Eric Bledsoe on Sunday.
Beverley, 33, averaged 7.5 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.1 assists while shooting 40 per cent from 3-point range last season. He adds toughness and leadership to a young Timberwolves roster.
Going the other way, Memphis is adding even more youth to its roster with Culver, who’s 22 years old and a 2019 No. 6 overall NBA Draft choice. The shooting guard is coming off a disappointing season where he averaged 5.3 points, 3.1 rebounds and 0.7 assists, shooting 41.1 per cent from the field and 24.5 per cent from three.
Hernangomez, a 25-year-old power forward, averaged 7.2 points and 3.9 rebounds, shooting 43.5 per cent from the field last season. The Spaniard enters his sixth NBA season in 2021-22
