The Atlanta Hawks have hired former Toronto Raptors swingman and general manager of the San Antonio Spurs' G-League affiliate, Landry Fields, as assistant GM, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Fields was named GM of the Austin Spurs a year ago, guiding them to 24-18 record -- good for third in the G-League's Western Conference.

The 32-year-old spent five years in the NBA, signing a three-deal with the Raptors in the 2012 off-season after the New York Knicks declined to match their offer sheet.

Fields suffered a mysterious nerve issue in his right wrist that wreaked havoc with his jump shot while in Toronto, and his career was over at 26 when his contract expired with the Raptors at the end of the 2014-15 season.
