The Miami Heat are set to get a boost to their backcourt.
All-star guard Tyler Herro plans to make his season debut on Monday against the Dallas Mavericks, ESPN's Shams Charania reported Sunday night.
Herro has missed the start of the season after undergoing ankle surgery in September.
Miami currently sits third in the Eastern Conference with an 11-6 record, boosted by its current four-game win streak.
Herro, 25, averaged 23.9 points, 5.5 assists and 5.2 rebounds over 77 games in 2024-25 while shooting 47.2 per cent from the floor and 37.5 per cent from three. The six-year NBA veteran earned his first all-star nod for helping the Heat weather the drama surrounding Jimmy Butler's constant absence.
The 2021-22 Sixth Man of the Year, Herro, will return to a new-look Heat offence, where guard Norman Powell has taken the reins following an off-season trade. Before dropping 32 in Sunday's win over Philadelphia, Powell was averaging 24.9 points per game.
