Brandon Miller has gotten paid.
The Charlotte Hornets have signed the forward to a five-year, $209 million rookie-scale contract extension, ESPN's Shams Charania reported Monday.
Miller, 23, posted averages of 20.2 points, 3.3 assists, 4.9 rebounds and 1.0 steals over 65 games last season.
His emergence, along with strides from LaMelo Ball and rookie Kon Knueppel, propelled the Hornets to a 44-38 record — their first finish above .500 since the 2021-22 season.
Despite the strong campaign, the Hornets missed the playoffs by way of a play-in tournament elimination, and Charlotte traded Ball to the Minnesota Timberwolves in the off-season, adding weight to Miller's shoulders heading into the 2026-27 year.
The Hornets selected him with the second-overall pick in 2023, and he finished third in Rookie of the Year voting behind Victor Wembanyama and Chet Holmgren.
Charlotte is set to open its season on Wednesday night against the Brooklyn Nets.
