The Charlotte Hornets and guard Terry Rozier have agreed to a multi-year extension, the team announced Tuesday.

The Associated Press reports it's a four-year, $97-million max contract extension.

Rozier, 27, averaged 20.4 points, 4.4 rebounds and 4.2 assists on 45 per cent shooting from the field in 34.5 minutes spanning 69 games last season with the Hornets. His new contract will begin in 2022-23 after his current three-year, $56.7-million contract expires.

Rozier arrived in Charlotte as part of a sign-and-trade deal involving Kemba Walker and the Boston Celtics in July 2019.
