Free-agent centre Jakob Poeltl is finalizing a three-year deal worth nearly $27 million to return to the San Antonio Spurs, according to The Athletic's Shams Charania.

Poeltl, who boasts soft hands and protect the rim, averaged 5.6 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.4 blocks on 62.4 per cent shooting in 17.7 minutes with the Spurs last season.

It was his second in San Antonio after being acquired as part of the 2018 blockbuster deal that sent Kawhi Leonard to the Toronto Raptors.
