Utah Jazz star Donovan Mitchell will not make his return in Game 1 agains the Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday.
Mitchell had previously stated that he was “ready to go” and had been cleared for Game 1. The 24-year-old suffered an ankle sprain on April 16 and was sidelined for the last 16 games of the regular season.
Before his injury, Mitchell was averaging 26.4 points and 5.2 assists on 43.8 per cent shooting as the Jazz took command of the Western Conference and finished in first place.
