Restricted free-agent guard Jevon Carter has agreed to a three-year, $11.5 million deal to stay with the Phoenix Suns, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

After expectedly declining the qualifying offer he was tendered, Carter entered restricted free agency, meaning that whatever offer sheet he was given by another team, the Suns would have had the ability to match it if they couldn't come to terms with Carter themselves.

Evidently, it appears the desire for Carter to stick around was had by both parties, with the 25-year-old coming off a solid second season. He'll now act as back court depth for a team that just recently traded for star Chris Paul and has its sights locked on making the playoffs in 2020-21.

Carter averaged 4.9 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.4 assists on 41.6 per cent shooting in 16.3 minutes last season.
