Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James will miss Monday’s game against the Denver Nuggets to rest his sore right ankle, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
James was unable to finish Sunday’s loss to the Toronto Raptors due to an ankle issue. He returned to the lineup Friday against the Kings after missing 20 games with the same injury.
His status for this upcoming Thursday’s contest against the Clippers is unknown. The Lakers have eight games remaining in the regular season.
In other Lakers news, Charania reports that guard Dennis Schroder is entering the NBA’s COVID-19 protocols and will be out of the lineup for 10-14 days. Schroder missed Sunday’s game against the Raptors due to the protocols.
“I think our team is predicated on health,” James said Sunday. “That is the No. 1 thing for our ball club. We’re a team that we need to be healthy and we need to be full, and if it’s not one thing, it’s the other. We show up today and our starting point guard is not in the lineup, so it’s like another blow for us.”
