The Los Angeles Lakers made their first move in what could be a busy off-season for the team as they go through a changing of the guard.
The Lakers have signed forward Jake LaRavia to a two-year, $12 million deal, ESPN's Shams Charania reported Monday.
LaRavia provides the Lakers with some much-needed depth in the frontcourt after losing Dorian Finney-Smith to the Houston Rockets.
The 23-year-old is a great three-point shooter, knocking down 42.3 per cent of his looks last season while splitting time between the Memphis Grizzlies and Sacramento Kings.
He averaged 6.9 points, 3.9 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 0.9 steals over 66 games while shooting 47.5 per cent from the field.
The native of Pasadena, Calif. was originally drafted by the Minnesota Timberwolves 19th overall in 2022 but was traded to the Grizzlies on draft night. He was then dealt to the Kings as part of a three-team deal at the deadline last year.
