The Brooklyn Nets have traded centre DeAndre Jordan, four future second-round picks and $5.78 million to the Detroit Pistons for Jahlil Okafor and Sekou Doumbouya.

The picks sent to Detroit include: The Nets’ own 2022 and 2027 second-round picks, a 2024 second-round pick Brooklyn previously acquired from Washington and a 2025 second-rounder that had been acquired from Golden State.
For the Nets, the picks are the cost of trimming $47 million from their spending in both salary and taxes next season.
Jordan, likely, will not be a member of the Pistons for long. Detroit, according to Wojnarowski, plans to work through a buyout on the two-year, $20 million deal he is owed.
The buyout, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic, will see Jordan give back $4 million of the remaining amount he is owed.
Once Jordan clears waivers and becomes a free agent, the Los Angeles Lakers are expected to sign him to a one-year, $2.6 million deal, according to Charania.
would be a serious contender to sign him if he hits the open market, Wojnarowski added.
The 33-year-old appeared in 57 games last season, his second with the Nets. He averaged 7.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per game while shooting 76.3 per cent from the floor.
It is unclear at this time if the Nets believe Okafor or Doumbouya could be fringe role players in their rotation.
Okafor, 25, appeared in just 27 games with the Pistons last season, averaging 5.4 points and 2.4 rebounds.
Doumbouya, a former first-round pick, 15th overall, by the Pistons in 2019 played in 56 games last year. The 20-year-old averaged 5.1 points and 2.6 rebounds per game.
