There might be a new bench boss in The Big Easy.
The New Orleans Pelicans are opening a search for a new head coach, NBA insiders Marc Stein and Jake Fischer reported on Monday.
Interim head coach James Borrego will be included as a candidate, Stein and Fischer added.
The Pelicans finished 26-56 on the season, tied for the seventh-worst record in the NBA.
New Orleans has finished in draft lottery positioning for consecutive seasons – they went 21-61 in 2024-25 – and fired previous head coach Willie Green on Nov. 15 after a 2-10 start to the season.
The Milwaukee Bucks are also in the market for a new head coach after Doc Rivers stepped down on Sunday.
