Rajon Rondo appears to be returning to the Los Angeles Lakers.
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the veteran point guard plans to sign a one-year, $2.6-million deal after he clears waivers.
Rondo’s signing would fill the Lakers’ final roster spot. The 35-year-old reportedly agreed to a contract buyout with the Memphis Grizzlies on the weekend, enabling him to return to the Lakers.
Rondo, entering his 18th season, played a pivotal role in the Lakers’ 2019-20 NBA championship.
Rondo put up 5.4 points, 2.4 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game in 2020-21.
