The Toronto Raptors have signed free-agent forward Juancho Hernangómez, the team announced Thursday.

Hernangómez, 26, was selected 15th overall by the Denver Nuggets in 2016, and has played for that organization, as well as Minnesota, Boston, San Antonio, and most recently the Utah Jazz. He is a career 42.8 per cent shooter from the field, averaging 5.4 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 0.6 assists per game.

The Spaniard gained notoriety recently as one of the stars of the Netflix movie Hustle, about a basketball scout (played by Adam Sandler) who discovers an unknown Spanish player (played by Hernangómez), who he then helps guide and prepare for a professional career in the NBA.
