Report: Raptors signing undrafted free agent Justin Champagnie

Sportsnet's Donnovan Bennett takes a deeper look at 2021 NBA Draft prospect and Canadian basketball player Eugene Omoruyi.

The Toronto Raptors are signing undrafted Pittsburgh Panthers forward Justin Champagnie, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

The 20-year-old, six-foot-six Champagnie averaged 18 points and 11 rebounds on 47.7 per cent shooting in the 2020-21 NCAA Division I season, earning All-Atlantic Coast Conference first-team honours.

Wojnarowski also reports that the Dallas Mavericks are signing undrafted Canadian-Nigerian Eugene Omoruyi out of Oregon.

The forward averaged 17.1 points on 47.3 per cent shooting with the Oregon Ducks last season.

Still according to Wojnarowski, another undrafted Canadian will find a home in the NBA, with guard AJ Lawson agreeing to a contract with the Miami Heat.

The South Carolina product finished last season with an average of 16.6 points and 4.1 rebounds in just over 31 minutes per contest.
