Svi Mykhailiuk has reportedly exercised his player-option with the Toronto Raptors for the 2022-23 season, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic, locking in a $1.9 million deal instead of testing his luck on the open market.

If Mykhailiuk, who split his time between the shooting guard and small forward positions last season, had decided to look for employment elsewhere, his minimum salary would have jumped to $1.94 million — though it is unlikely he would have received a full guarantee in a fresh situation.

Mykhailiuk had until June 22 to exercise his 2022-23 player option.

The 25-year-old appeared in 56 regular season games for the Raptors last year, averaging 4.6 points on 38.9 per cent shooting from the floor. For his career, he is a 35.3 per cent three-point shooter, though that mark dipped by almost five per cent in 2021-22.
