Clint Capela is set to go back to where it all started.
The Houston Rockets have signed the Swiss big man to a three-year, $21.5 million deal, ESPN's Shams Charania reported Monday.
Capela, 31, saw his production dip last season as his role on the Atlanta Hawks decreased. He averaged 8.9 points, 8.5 rebounds and one block while shooting only 55.9 per cent from the field — his lowest mark since his rookie season.
Capela was drafted 25th overall by the Rockets in 2014 and spent six seasons with the franchise, making the playoffs in five of them.
But after five years in Atlanta, and with a Rockets team on the upswing after a busy start to the summer, Capela figured it was time to head back.
In addition to Capela, the Rockets swung a deal with the Phoenix Suns for 15-time All-Star Kevin Durant earlier in June.
They also signed three-and-D forward Dorian Finney-Smith on Monday, handed forward Jabari Smith Jr. a five-year extension on Sunday and re-upped with guard Fred VanVleet on a two-year deal.
The Rockets finished second in the Western Conference last season with a 52-30 record but were eliminated by the Golden State Warriors in the first round of the playoffs.
