The Houston Rockets are locking in one of their young studs.
Forward Jabari Smith Jr. intends to sign a five-year, $122-million extension with Houston, ESPN's Shams Charania reported on Sunday.
The Rockets selected the 22-year-old with the third pick of the 2022 draft.
Smith Jr. started 155 games in his first two seasons, before being limited to just 57 appearances last season due to a hand injury.
In 2024-25, the Auburn University product averaged 12.2 points and 7 rebounds a night. Over his three-year career, Smith Jr. averaged 13 points and 7.5 rebounds with .432/.340/.805 shooting splits.
