San Antonio Spurs star DeMar DeRozan has gone to Los Angeles to tend to his ill father and will not play Sunday against the Minnesota Timberwolves, according to Jeff McDonald of the San Antonio Express-News.
While absent from the team, DeRozan reportedly plans to test for the novel coronavirus daily, which should expedite the process to returning to play.
Whenever he is able to come back from his family business is when a timetable will be set, which, under NBA protocols, will come after risk assessment by league and team doctors. The length of quarantine required, if any such period is necessary, will also come from that assessment.
