The San Antonio Spurs have agreed to terms with guard Devin Vassell on a five-year, $146-millon contract extension, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski first reported.
Selected as the 11th pick in the 2020 draft, the two sides came together to hammer out the rookie scale extension before he was set to hit restricted free agency next summer.
Alongside Vassell, the Spurs have locked up their core for the next few seasons with wing Keldon Johnson signing a four-year, $74-million extension last summer, while Victor Wembanyama and Jeremy Sochan are still on their rookie deals.
Vassell, 23, missed 44 games last season with various knee injuries, but in the games he played in, was a solid contributor to the rebuilding team. He averaged 18.5 points, 3.9 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game, all improved marks in his third season in the NBA.
Notably, his scoring saw a serious jump, up from 12.3 the year prior.
