Ricky Rubio appears to be on the move again, this time to the team where he started his NBA career.
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Minnesota Timberwolves are acquiring the pass-first, veteran point guard along with picks No. 25 and 28 in Wednesday’s 2020 NBA Draft from the Oklahoma City Thunder in exchange for the 17th selection, which they used on Aleksej Pokusevski.
Rubio was dealt to Oklahoma City earlier this week as part of the package that sent all-star Chris Paul to the Phoenix Suns.
Rubio is entering his 10th NBA season after being taken by the Timberwolves with the fifth pick in the 2009 draft. He signed a three-year, $51 million deal with the Suns before last season and averaged 13 points and 8.8 assists with Phoenix.
