Portland Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard will undergo surgery on Thursday to address his abdomen injury and will be re-evaluated in 6-8 weeks, sources tell Yahoo Sports’ Chris Haynes.
Lillard last played on Dec. 31 and has missed the team’s last five games.
The six-time All-Star saw two specialists this week who both agreed this was the best course of action, sources told Haynes.
Lillard is currently averaging 24 points, 7.3 assists and 4.1 rebounds in the 29 games he’s played this season.
