Two of the best shooters in all of basketball are expected to face off at NBA All-Star weekend.
According to the Athletic's Shams Charania, Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry and New York Liberty sharpshooter Sabrina Ionescu will face off in a three-point shootout at NBA All-Star Weekend in Indiana.
Both Curry and Ionescu have won a three-point contest in their respective league, with Curry taking the NBA title home in 2015 and 2021, and Ionescu winning the WNBA contest in 2023.
Ionescu did it in style, breaking the record for both leagues by scoring 37 of a possible 40 points to surpass Curry's mark of 31 which he set in 2021.
Curry hinted at the matchup while warming up for Thursday's game against the Sacramento Kings.
After asking teammate Brandin Podziemski if he knew who held the record, Curry said it was time for the two prolific shooters to go head-to-head.
"We got to settle this once and for all," Curry said while mic'd up. "I think I got to challenge her. It'd be lit."
Ionescu then replied on social media, seemingly accepting the challenge.
The exact details of the challenge have not been finalized, but whenever it happens, expect it to draw major attention from basketball fans everywhere.
