Golden State Warriors guard Moses Moody's season is over.
According to a report from ESPN's Shams Charania, Moody has been diagnosed with a torn patellar tendon in his left knee after he was stretchered off the court with an apparent non-contact knee injury during the Warriors' overtime win over the Dallas Mavericks Monday night.
The injury occurred with a little over a minute left to play in overtime. Moody grabbed a steal and attempted to elevate for a dunk on a fast break when his left knee buckled underneath him. Moody was down in agony, holding his knee and the entire Warriors team was visibly shaken up by the injury.
It was the 23-year-old's first game back after a 10-game absence due to a right wrist sprain.
Moody was in the midst of a career year, averaging 12.1 points per game and shooting 40.1 per cent from three-point range.
This injury to Moody is just the latest in what has been a snakebit season for the Warriors. Jimmy Butler III has already been ruled out for the year with a torn right ACL, and Stephen Curry has missed the last 22 games with a knee injury of his own.
The Warriors currently sit in 10th place in the Western Conference, up a comfortable 9.0 games on the New Orleans Pelicans for the final spot in the West's play-in tournament.
