The Washington Wizards and forward Deni Avdija have agreed to a four-year, $55 million contract extension, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported on Sunday.
Avdija, 22, was the Wizards' ninth overall selection in the 2020 NBA Draft.
In 76 games for the Wizards last season, Avdija averaged 9.2 points, 6.4 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game — all career highs.
Avdija will likely be expected to take on a larger role for a young Wizards team this season with stars Bradley Beal and Kristaps Porzingis no longer in Washington.
