One of the Washington Wizards' young studs will miss an extended period.
Kyshawn George has suffered a UCL tear in his left elbow and will be re-evaluated in three weeks, the team announced on Wednesday.
The 22-year-old sophomore suffered the injury in Monday's loss to the Houston Rockets and missed Tuesday's loss to the Orlando Magic.
George is averaging 14.8 points, 5.1 rebounds and 4.5 assists on 43.8 per cent shooting through 48 games.
The injury comes as the Wizards were getting closer to full health. Recently acquired Trae Young is set to make his team debut on Thursday against the Utah Jazz.
Washington has been one of the worst teams in the NBA this season with a 16-45 record.
