Los Angeles Clippers star Paul George is unlikely to play for the entirety of the Clippers' Round 1 series against the Phoenix Suns because of a sprained right knee, according to multiple reports.
George is reportedly progressing well, but isn't expected to be ready for the heavy-weight showdown with Kevin Durant and the Suns in the opening round.
He sprained his knee back on March 21, and has not played since.
George's injury is a major blow to the Clippers, as the eight-time NBA All-Star is averaging 23.8 points, 6.1 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game this season. The Clippers will have to try and match the fire power of Suns superstars Kevin Durant and Devin Booker without one of their stars.
The Clippers and Suns open up their series on Sunday night.
