The Toronto Raptors have filled up their open roster spots by promoting forwards Justise Winslow and Mouhamadou Gueye from the Raptors 905 and granting them 10-day contracts, the team announced Saturday.
Following their moves at the trade deadline, the Raptors had two open roster spots and decided to fill them by bringing in guys they've had a closer look at all season.
Winslow is in his ninth season in the NBA and has played for the Miami Heat, Memphis Grizzlies, Los Angeles Clippers and Portland Trail Blazers. He averaged 6.8 points, 5.1 rebounds and 2.6 assists last season with Portland.
With the 905 this year, the 27-year-old is averaging 16.2 points, 7.2 rebounds and 2.6 assists while shooting 50.3 per cent from the field and adding 3.0 steals + blocks a game.
Much of his time in the NBA has been plagued by injuries and he underwent season-ending left-ankle surgery last March. He hasn't played more than 48 games in a season since 2018-19.
Gueye, meanwhile, has yet to suit up in the NBA, having gone undrafted in 2022 and then spending his first season playing for the Texas Legends, the Dallas Mavericks' G League affiliate.
He joined the Toronto Raptors as part of their Summer League squad in 2023 and was given a G League deal to play with the 905.
The 25-year-old forward is averaging 14.3 points, 8.4 rebounds and 2.4 blocks a game so far this season while shooting 52.1 per cent from the field.
