Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid will miss Tuesday's game against the Boston Celtics due to right knee soreness, according to the team.
Embiid is being evaluated by team doctors and updates will be provided as available.
Injuries have been an issue for the seven-time All-Star throughout his career, with his left knee previously being the main problem. Embiid underwent arthroscopic surgery in April 2025 on his left knee.
Embiid won MVP in 2022-23, but followed that by missing 43 games in 2023-24 and 63 last season. He has also sat out for four of Philadelphia's first 10 games this campaign.
The 31-year-old is averaging 19.7 points and 5.5 rebounds across 23.3 minutes of action in contests he's appeared in. The Sixers sit seventh in the East at 6-4.
