We've all been there before.
Sidelined due to a sprained thumb on Wednesday, New York Knicks forward Karl-Anthony Towns showed up for the first half of a road game against the Philadelphia 76ers in a white Eagles sweatshirt.
Fair enough for the nearby Piscataway, N.J., native, whose team is facing the Los Angeles Rams in the second round of the NFL playoffs on Sunday.
What prompted questions, though, was an outfit change at halftime into Knicks gear. Perhaps Towns feared retribution from Knicks fans, many of whom also cheer for the Eagles' divisional rival New York Giants, the theory went.
Nope. Turns out Towns just had sweaty pits.
"Sweat stains ain’t it on ESPN," Towns wrote on X after the game, referring to the fact it was nationally televised in the U.S. "Had to pull another fit out! anyways…GO BIRDS."
Some free advice for Towns: next time, go with green Eagles gear — the sweat stains will be much less noticeable that way.
