Mark Daigneault is headed to San Francisco.
The Oklahoma City head coach secured his spot on the sidelines for February's All-Star Game thanks to the Thunder's 127-101 win over the Brooklyn Nets on Sunday.
It is now guaranteed the Thunder will be leading the West on Feb. 2, the date at which coaches are locked in. The Eastern coaching staff is yet to be determined.
Daigneault, the 39-year-old reigning Coach of the Year, will participate in his first All-Star Weekend.
The 2025 NBA All-Star Weekend, which will be held beginning Feb. 14 at the Golden State Warriors' Chase Center, is set to feature a new format.
This season's format is a four-team, three-game, one-night tournament, with three teams of eight All-Stars apiece and the fourth team being the winner of the Rising Stars challenge for first- and second-year players. The winning team in all games will be the first to score 40 points.
Daigneault and one of his assistants will each coach one team, while the bench boss from the East team and one of his assistants will lead the other two squads.
TNT analysts Shaquille O'Neal, Charles Barkley and Kenny Smith will draft teams from the 24-player All-Star pool on Feb. 6. The teams will bear their names — Team Shaq, Team Charles and Team Kenny.
The Rising Stars winner that'll go to the All-Star tournament will be called Team Candace, for Candace Parker.
