Star Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard limped off the court and was ruled out for the remainder of the game against the Miami Heat with a right calf strain, the team announced Wednesday.
Lillard was shaken up on a play in the third quarter where he hit a three-point basket and later turned the ball over to Heat forward Jimmy Butler for a dunk before leaving the game.
Prior to the matchup against the Heat, the Trail Blazers were undefeated with their best start since 1999 with Lillard hitting 30-plus points in each of their last three games.
Even with his early exit Lillard finished with 22 points, two rebounds and two assists.
The 32-year-old missed the majority of last season with an abdominal injury.
