Golden State Warriors power forward Draymond Green is hoping to return to the lineup Monday against the Washington Wizards.
Green has been out since January due to a back injury and has missed 27 games.
The three-time NBA champion said Monday on his podcast, The Draymond Green Show, he's "excited as hell" to get back on the court.
"It's been ... two months, for sure, almost two-and-a-half by the time I'll play. I have never missed that much time during season," Green said. "I once had an ankle injury that kept me out for a very long time in high school but it was the offseason, so this is something different for me.
"I'm extremely excited to get back out there with my guys to try to help right the ship."
Green has averaged 7.9 points, 7.6 rebounds and 7.4 assists per game this season, his 10th with Golden State.
The Warriors (43-21) are second in the Western Conference but have hit a slump in the midst of a four-game losing streak and a 2-8 record over their past 10 contests.
