Washington Wizards guard Russell Westbrook will miss a week with a left quad injury, the team announced Monday.
Westbrook suffered the injury in a game against the Philadelphia 76ers last week and tried to play through it. The team said the 32-year-old will be re-evaluated in a week’s time.
In his first season with Washington, Westbrook recorded triple-doubles in his first four games and is averaging 19.3 points, 9.7 rebounds and 11.3 assists. The Wizards acquired Westbrook in a blockbuster trade with the Houston Rockets for John Wall.
