Los Angeles Clippers star Kawhi Leonard will miss Tuesday’s game against the Minnesota Timberwolves due to a mouth laceration, Clippers head coach Ty Lue said.

Leonard required eight stitches in his mouth after his teammate, Serge Ibaka, accidentally elbowed him while going for a rebound in Los Angeles’ win against Denver on Friday. Leonard managed to score 21 points with five rebounds and seven assists before the incident. He was seen bleeding heavily as he left the court during the fourth quarter.

The two-time Finals MVP hasn’t played since, missing Sunday’s game against Dallas Mavericks.

Los Angeles went on to lose that matchup, their home opener, in historic fashion. The Clippers fell behind by an NBA-record 50 points by halftime and never recovered, ultimately dropping the contest 124-73.

The Timberwolves and Clippers tip off Tuesday night in L.A., with live coverage beginning at 10 p.m. ET on Sportsnet.
