Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant is active and will start Saturday night against the Philadelphia 76ers, according to the team.

Morant suffered a Grade 2 left ankle sprain back on Dec. 28 in a game against the Brooklyn Nets. He was set to miss three-to-five weeks, and has evidently worked hard to return inside of the shorter end of that window.

The injury occurred while Morant was attempting to contest a shot by Timothé Luwawu-Cabarrot. The former landed on his opponent’s foot with his own, twisting it awkwardly. Morant immediately hopped to the baseline, taking himself out of play. He required a wheelchair to be removed from the floor and later returned in a walking boot.

In the three games that he’s played this season, Morant’s averaged 26.3 points, 2.3 rebounds and 6.3 assists on 54.5 per cent shooting in 27 minutes.
