LeBron James becomes third NBA player to reach 35,000 points

LeBron James has become the third player in NBA history to score 35,000 points in his career.

James completed the feat with a successful free throw late in the second quarter of Thursday’s game between the Los Angeles Lakers and Brooklyn Nets.

The 36-year-old joins Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Karl Malone as the only players in league history to cross the 35,000-point threshold. Abdul-Jabbar has a career 38,387 point total and Malone has 36,928 career points.

In 29 games this season, James is averaging 34.7 minutes, 25.7 points, 7.9 assists and 8.2 rebounds.
