The Miami Heat were considered the frontrunners to land Lillard but in the end it was the Milwaukee Bucks who were able to jump the line to reportedly acquire the seven-time All-Star on Wednesday.
He now unites with Giannis Antetokounmpo as the Bucks keep the guard from going to one of their rivals in the Heat.
It also looks like Lillard has had desires to be on the same team as Antetokounmpo, with the NBA guard responding “Giannis” to a fan asking in 2022 if there was a player he would like to team up with to go for a title. Now, the duo get their wish to play together.
On social media, the reaction to the deal has been mostly mixed but most believe the Bucks are now one of the teams to beat in the Eastern Conference.
