The Dallas Mavericks plan to sign free-agent guard Isaiah Thomas, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
Thomas, 32, made his NBA return with the Los Angeles Lakers earlier this season on a 10-day hardship exception. He has averaged 9.3 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.5 assists in four games, including one start.
Thomas has shown resilience bouncing in and out of the league over the past five years, playing for five different NBA teams during that time.
The two-time All-Star has career averages of 18 points, 4.9 assists and 2.4 rebounds per game in 532 career games.
Dallas has lost three guards — Doncic, McLaughlin, Burke — to COVID-19 health and safety protocols since Dec. 22.
The Mavericks (16-17) take on the Sacramento Kings (14-21) Wednesday.
