The Washington Wizards have reached an agreement with centre Daniel Gafford on a three-year, $40.2-million extension, according to The Athletic’s Shams Charania.

Gafford, 23, had two years left on his rookie contract, including a club option for 2022-23, but is now signed with the Wizards through 2025-26 after arriving in Washington in a trade with the Chicago Bulls last season.

The 2019 second-round pick averaged 10.1 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.8 blocks in 23 games with the Wizards last season.
