While half the globe was sleeping early Thursday morning, the NBA had a 15-minute stretch only it could, somehow topping the sky-high trade deadline expectations the league sets for itself year after year.

At 12:51 a.m. ET, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski tweeted that Toronto Raptors had reportedly added centre Jakob Poeltl from the San Antonio Spurs just hours after the teams played each other. Kicking off deadline day with a bang, right? The supposed biggest players already showing their hand just after midnight.

Then, at 1:05 a.m. ET, the league turned it up to 11 with the Woj bomb of all Woj bombs: Kevin Durant is headed to the Phoenix Suns.
