Saint Peter’s, who had already turned heads reaching the Sweet 16, defeated No. 3 Purdue 67-64 on Friday to become the first-ever No. 15 seed to reach the Elite Eight.
It’s a tremendous achievement considering no team ranked beyond 13th had ever reached this stage before. Now a meeting with No. 8 North Carolina or No. 4 UCLA is all that is standing between the Peacocks and the Final Four.
