Canadian quarterback Kurtis Rourke is in line to start for Ohio University this weekend against Long Island, one week after leaving a game with an injury.
Rourke, from Oakville, Ont., was forced to leave Ohio's NCAA season opener against host San Diego State in the final minutes of the first quarter on Saturday after he was sacked on a blitz. The injury was especially concerning as Rourke missed most of last season with a torn ACL.
"We had several guys that did get X-rays, Kurtis did not have to get X-rays," Ohio head coach Tim Albin said Monday, adding that the injury was not related to the ACL tear.
Rourke, the younger brother of NFL quarterback Nathan Rourke, was replaced by C.J. Harris after completing eight of 10 passes for 75 yards.
Harris went on to throw three interceptions in a 20-13 loss.
