Seems the thumb injury Kurtis Rourke suffered during the middle of Indiana's surprising NCAA playoff campaign may not have been the only ailment the Canadian quarterback was playing with this season.
Casey Muir, Rourke's agent, told NFL Network's Tom Pelissero on Friday that the native of Oakville, Ont., will undergo ACL revision surgery on Wednesday.
Pelissero reports that Rourke is believed to have re-torn his ACL in August, but played through the injury.
Rourke did tear his ACL late in the 2022 season with Ohio. He wasn't as effective in 2023 with Ohio before he transferred to Indiana and finished ninth in Heisman Trophy voting, leading the upstart Hoosiers to the College Football Playoff with an 11-1 record.
Rourke, a 2025 NFL Draft prospect, missed one game with a thumb injury that required surgery in October. He struggled in losses to Ohio State and Notre Dame (in the first round of the playoff), two teams that have advanced to the national semifinals.
There is no indication of how much time Rourke will be sidelined because of the reported ACL surgery.
The Canadian officially declared for the NFL Draft earlier this week.
