The Cincinnati Bengals have placed Joe Mixon on the injured reserve, meaning the running back will miss at least the next three games.

Mixon, 24, has been dealing with a foot injury since Week 6 and has already missed three games. Veteran Gio Bernard has been starting in the Bengals backfield in place of Mixon, who is reportedly believed to be returning at some point this season.

In six games this season, Mixon has 428 yards rushing and three touchdowns on the ground along with 138 receiving yards and a score. The 2017 second-rounder is averaging 3.6 yards per carry in 2020.

The Bengals (2-6-1) currently sit last in the AFC North as they head to D.C. on Sunday to take on the Washington Football Team.
