The Denver Broncos will be without two of their top defenders as they take on the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday.
Denver ruled defensive backs Pat Surtain II and Riley Moss out for the contest on Friday after both went down with injuries in a Week 4 loss to the San Francisco 49ers.
Surtain, a two-time All-Pro and the 2024 AP NFL Defensive Player of the Year, went down late in the first half with a non-contact injury to his right ankle and needed to be helped to the locker room.
Moss injured his ribs in the first half and also wasn't able to return, forcing the Broncos to use Kris Abrams-Draine and Jahdae Barron as their outside cornerbacks.
After holding Brock Purdy to 89 yards passing and three points in the first half, Denver allowed him to throw for 129 yards and two TDs in the second half.
The Broncos enter Week 5's divisional matchup with the Chargers sitting third in the AFC West at 2-2, trailing the undefeated Kansas City Chiefs and 3-1 Las Vegas Raiders.
