Joe Flacco, in the span of five games, has gone from sitting on his couch to now sitting for rest ahead of the playoffs.
Cleveland head coach Kevin Stefanski announced that Jeff Driskel will start the last regular season game for the Browns on Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals.
The Browns officially clinched the No. 5 spot of the AFC playoffs last week with a win against the New York Jets, their second playoff berth in four years.
Stefanski did note during the press conference that there would be others sitting out of the regular season finale, but they would not have a chance to rest everyone.
Driskel, who has started just 11 games across his NFL career, will be the fifth quarterback to start a game for Cleveland this season. They are 11-5 despite the carousel, and the first NFL team in over 35 years to start five quarterbacks in a single season.
Flacco, who despite playing just five games, has had quite the resurgence since signing with the Browns. He finishes up his elite stretch of games with over 1,600 yards and 13 touchdowns to his eight interceptions, and will look to keep his incredible comeback going in his 16th playoff game of his career.
