One of Canada's longest-serving NFL players is finishing his career in the place where he put his leg on the map.
The Seattle Seahawks announced Tuesday that punter Jon Ryan signed a one-day contract to allow him to retire with the team.
The Regina-born Ryan, 42, played for the Seahawks from 2008-17, winning the Super Bowl in 2014.
The University of Regina graduate started his NFL career with the Green Bay Packers in 2006 after two years with the CFL's Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
Ryan finished his pro career in the CFL, spending two years with his hometown Saskatchewan Roughriders (2019 and 2021) and one year with the Edmonton Elks (2022)
