A Canadian wide receiver has been cut from NFL camp.
The New Orleans Saints have waived Montreal native Damien Alford with an injury designation, the team announced on Wednesday.
Alford first signed with the Saints in January after an NFL workout tour that also included an audition for the New York Jets.
The 25-year-old receiver had 20 catches for 407 yards and five touchdowns in 15 games for the Calgary Stampeders last season.
Selected by the Stampeders with the first pick in the 2025 CFL Draft, the team still retains his rights if he chooses to return to the league for this season.
